Calling all Senior Brand Designers!

We're looking for a talented Senior Brand Designer to join our growing creative team.

The role involves the development of high-level concepts for design projects and includes working closely with other team members and external clients, and understanding client needs. The role also includes occasional presentation of your design concepts to clients with a clear understanding of the strategic direction of the project and how that has led to the final design solution.

We are growing, quickly - and this role would suit a designer with ambition and energy who would like be part of a highly collaborative and creative team. Someone with a true passion for design and creativity who wants to grow with us.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

FOCUS & UNDERSTAND:

  • Be involved with the strategy team to clearly understand the key information that frames the key issues
  • Work in close collaboration with the strategy team to develop clear creative briefs and compelling creative strategies

CREATE & REALISE:

  • Develop superior creative ideas and concepts that meet the objectives of the brief and deliver on the creative strategy
  • Ability to execute these ideas from initial creative concepts right through to design application and final supplied artwork
  • Confident presentation and articulation of these creative concepts and thinking to clients (when required)
  • Lead multiple creative projects from concept through to completion to agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Successfully collaborate with and art direct external creative suppliers such as copywriters, illustrators, photographers and retouchers (when required)
  • Assist the Creative Director to help develop the design quality and output of designers in their respective team including critical feedback over other designers concepts and projects as required
  • Take responsibility for the quality of their own creative design output by consulting and collaborating within their team as necessary and persevering and problem solving
  • Stay up to date with design trends, software and tools to continuously improve the quality of outputs

Skills, Experience & Education

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience working in a brand/design/strategic or similar agency
  • Experience working with Strategists and Account Managers
  • Experience directing Junior or Intermediate Designers

Formal Education and Training:

  • A degree in Design and/or Visual Communication (or similar) is required

Skills:

  • Highly developed conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to translate this thinking into design ideas that work seamlessly across multiple channels
  • Strong understanding of branding, packaging, layout, colour theory and typography in both print and digital media
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite – specificially Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects
  • Will be trained in operational systems if not already familiar (e.g. Workflow Max).
  • A thorough understanding of industry best practices
